Elegant Lighting Control that is Reliable and Provides Energy Savings!

HLC Awards Lighting icon

With HAI Lighting Control (HLC) you can experience all of the benefits of a sophisticated lighting control system that is retrofittable. Lighting control can enhance the enjoyment and value of your home, add security for peace of mind, and contribute to savings on your energy bill.

Modular Lighting Control

HLC Logo

HLC is a modular system, so you can easily add rooms or lights anytime, updating as your needs change. There is no need to run new wires as long as you have standard residential wiring (120/240V electrical system with a neutral wire at each switch location). For retrofits or expansion, simply replace the existing light switch with an HAI "smart" switch.

The HLC product line includes dimmers, switches, remote controls, and plug-in modules. HAI's Scene Switch lets you set a lighting scene with the push of one button by controlling all of the lights in a room or area. A House Status Switch can be used as a master lighting control that shows the illumination status of up to eight rooms and allows you to turn on/off all of the lights in those rooms.

Scene Switches may be placed into a table top cradle that plugs directly into any electrical outlet. This table top cradle allows for convenient control of your scenes from a bedside nightstand, on desk in a home office, or next to your favorite chair. HAI offers a remote control to activate scenes through the infrared receiver built into Scene Switches.

Easy to Use

Switches feature true rocker action. Press and hold to brighten or dim. Press up to turn on. Press down to turn off. Homeowners may easily change scene settings at any time without a service call.

HLC Matches Your Style!

Color Change Kit Colors Most HLC switches are available in White (WH), Ivory (IV), Almond (AL), Light Almond (LTA), Brown (BR), Grey (GR), and Black (BL) colors.

LED indicator lights can be programmed to glow Blue, Red, Magenta, or turned off entirely. Custom laser engraved buttons are available for both the Scene and House Status Switch to show the names of your scenes or rooms.

Most HLC switches and dimmers accommodate standard Decora-style Wallplates, to give you unlimited options:

About HLC

Generation III UPB All HLC products are UL Listed and use Generation III Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™) – a digital communications standard for lighting and home control that ensures superior reliability. UPB™ has been extensively tested and researched in residential environments and found to be 99.9 percent reliable. UPB™ works over existing wires in a home and does not require new wiring.

HLC’s two way performance has been optimized for single family homes on 120/240 volt electrical systems.

Integrating with an HAI Home Control System

HLC Products work as stand-alone or with a Home Control System.

An HAI home control system has the ability to change your light settings by the time of day, a set schedule, by the triggering of events (including motion), via a telephone call, Touchscreen, Smartphone, or by a computer connected to the Internet.

The Home Lighting Control Alliance says that dimming your lights by 25% saves 20% of the energy used and extends bulb life by 10 times. Dimming your lights by 50% saves 40% in energy and extends bulb life by 20 times. HAI systems can automatically set lights to any percentage, saving you money every time a light is turned on.

Your HAI system can automatically turn off all of the lights in the house when you leave in order to lower your electric bill.
